Roger & Marla

Roger and Marla are joined by Byron Samuels, Jay Badry and Carl Dambman.  These veteran sports chaplains combined have served all around the globe, in some of the most challenging of settings.  They have competed and coached at the highest levels.  Yet they have the humility to share with us mistakes made and lessons learned.   Here are some soundbites of their wisdom:

 - Purpose > Placement
 - "Thy will be done" is the best part of the Lord's Prayer.
 - Create a fictitious but real "board of directors".
 - Make sure you are in a good place before going to a new place
 - Inertia is difficult to overcome, sometimes just need to take that first step and see how God leads you.
 - God's clear call comes with vision and strategy enough for a passion and direction
 - Be willing to be discipled by another
 - Don't let ambition and position trump what God is calling you to do
 - Recognize that not every fight is a "good fight".
